Hello,

My name is Gabriela Prol and I have the honor of being Jacob’s second grade teacher. I would like to start off by sharing that I never imagined myself creating a gofundme for one of my babies. I say babies, because as a teacher, your students become like one of your own. I write this with a heavy heart to share some sad news. Monday, December 19, 2022, during dismissal, Jacob was picked up after school by his mother; Cristina Hernandez, and both were involved in a tragic car accident. Though Jacob survived and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, his mother unfortunately did not make it. I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Cristina this school year, and I can honestly say whole heartedly, that she had such a beautiful soul and loved her son with every ounce of her being. She was always so loving, nurturing, and attentive when it came to Jacob. That is why I know in my heart that she is right by Jacob’s side getting him through this traumatic experience. Jacob is currently in an induced coma at the hospital in the Cardiac-ICU. His injuries are severe, and he has a long journey ahead of him, but Jacob is battling every day to recover. Those who know Jacob know how undeniably strong, brave and determined he is. I’ve never given him a task he wasn’t willing to complete and try his best. Jacob has a contagious smile and the ability to make everyone laugh around him. As Jacob recovers, he’ll need his amazing father’s undivided attention. Jacob was always so eager to share all the adventures he and his dad; Anthony Estrada, had from weekends fishing at the beach, to going hunting with the boys. He always mentioned how his dad was his best friend. It goes without saying, that during this difficult time, he needs his best friend and father by his side. For dad to be able to do so, he’ll need all the financial help we can give him. Your donation will help pay for Cristina’s funeral arrangements and provide his wife the proper funeral that she deserves. It would help cover Jacob’s medical bills and the family's financial expenses. Anything you contribute is greatly appreciated.
