Jacob's Heart for Stem Cell

Hello there, my name is Jacob Gallegos, and I live to my fullest every day. However, my journey to keep living has been a momentous mountain to climb. I was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. It is not curable, in fact, the life expectancy of people diagnosed with DMD don't live into their thirties. I am 38, and my drive to live is stronger than ever. I draw my strengths from spirituality and from friends and family.

The number of medical procedures I have undergone in my life to keep me going has been challenging. Yes I am Trached to keep me breathing, yes I eat through a gastronomy tube to get my nutrition, and I have a metal support rod running down my spine to keep my back stabilized. This is just what it takes to keep living. My disease does not define me though. I have a passion for music, art, gaming, keeping up with movies and my favorite youtube channels, but most of all it is my love for my wonderful friends and family who I have been blessed with. I am a spiritual person and I draw strength and fortitude from my inner self I am a son, brother, Uncle, and Best Friend - just like you are to yours. And I want to try all I can to keep going. Recently I was told by my cardiologist that my heart muscle capacity is at 30% - that my heart is progressively failing. I knew this would happen, eventually. I am currently on medication that will help keep me at a working 30% functioning heart, but i know that it can give out, without a moment's notice.

So I have done some research about stem cells and exosomes, and people with DMD who have received stem cells for cardiovascular support and have gone on to live an improved life, and am relieved to know it has helped other people like me.
