Hi everyone!

Our beautiful boy Jacob has recently been diagnosed with Epilepsy, causing Generalized clonic tonic seizures.

Jacob is almost 13 years old. He is a Non verbal Autistic boy, who also has Intellectual disabilities in the 1st percentile. Making him more of a 1 year old cognitively. Jacob has always required 24/7 care, as he is completely incontinent, and requires help with feeding, changing, bathing and every aspect of his life.

On August 18th our lives came crashing down when at a splashpad Jacob collapsed and had a tonic clonic seizure also known as a Grand Mal seizure. He was rushed to hospital where he was admitted into the Pediatric Critical Care Unit, they ran a lot of tests including an EEG which came back abnormal. Showing issues on the left side of his brain. The Dr's then did a sedated MRI which came back showing Focal Cortical Dysplasia on Jacob's brain.

They started Jacob on medications right away, and after 4 days they sent Jacob home.
8 days later Jacob had another Tonic Clonic seizure landing him back in hospital. Again the Dr's decided to up his meds faster than the original plan.

Jacob's Dad has been off work because he is battling his cancer diagnosis. And Jacob's Mom has also had to go on a leave from work to take care of Jacob and her ex husband.

We are hoping with the money raised we can purchase some very important seizure alert systems to keep Jacob safe.

The Sami camera kit which includes a camera that is able to detect most seizure activity, and alerts and alarms you when a seizure is taking place, so medical intervention can take place immediately.

The EpiWatch which is worn by Jacob and monitors him and alerts parents and caregivers when he is having a seizure.

Seizure alert blanket and an Anti suffocation pillow.

The cost of all these things are incredibly high. We want to help take some of the burden off of Jazmin and Andy and of Course help keep Jacob safe.

Thank you, and if you can't donate please consider sharing their story!
