Story

Jacob Balcom, an outgoing, kind and intelligent student at Liberty University who was just months away from graduating is now facing a devastatingly difficult challenge. After being found unresponsive in his apartment on February 9, Jake was rushed to a local hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia where he slipped in and out of consciousness for a week. Amidst constant prayers and hope, his friends and family waited for a diagnosis that never came.  Doctors agreed that the extremely difficult decision to move him to Boston where he could meet expert doctors had to be made.  Unfortunately the insurance company did not cover the heavy cost of the medical flight.  After several days at Tufts Medical Center, Jake finally received a horrific diagnosis and began treatment. He is now at the beginning of a miraculous survival, but the journey back to health will be a long and uncertain one. His medical bills continue to pile up. The miracle story of Jake's journey into the abyss and his long climb back is happening; it is just being played out on God's terms. These are terms for which we must remain patient, strong and steadfast to our belief that God has big things in store for Jacob. Please keep Jacob in your prayers.Thank you and God bless.
