Autism Assistance Dog for Jacob
Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Jacob and I am 3.5 years old.Yes I look like any other child but inside my brain I am not, I have autism.
I am happy little chap but also very shy, as I do not feel comfortable around groups of people. Too many faces and sounds makes me lock myself inside me and I can't find myself in social situations. I have difficulties to understand social cues and express my feelings. I also suffer from sensory overload which creats Meltdowns and I can't control them. I even don't know why and when they are coming. I also have repetitive behaviours and self stimulation, which I do when I need to find comfort.
I have a dream, a Christmas dream. I would like to save £5500 for an autism assistance dog. This dream will help me stay safe as I have no sense of danger and I bolt or wonder off outside which worries my my parents. The dog will also promote positive behaviour and will provide me with comfort to reduce meltdowns. It will be my own personal therapist in difficult social situations. The dog will be personaly tailored for my needs and will be trained to walk with me, performing deep tissue massage and distracting me. But most importantly, this four legged friend, a first friend, will help to bring independence and a more socially inclusive life for me and my family.
Please help me to reach the target and help me to grow as independent young person and adult.
Thanks a million, every help counts however small or big.
Thank you from my little heart
Love Jacob
