Help Jacob win the race!

This is Jacob. Just a cool 12 year old from California with his heart set on racing. At 4 ½ years old, his parents put him behind the wheel of a quarter midget and he never looked back. Late last year he moved up to the junior late model division. This is his second year racing in this series and he is crushing it.

We recently went down to watch him race at Madera Speedway and were blown away by the composure this 12 year old had. There he was, in his fire retardant racing suit, sitting and calmly talking to his mom before the race. He smiled every other word and would turn and joke with all of our kids, knowing darn well, he is all of their heroes. When it was time for Jacob to climb into his car, we looked over at our friend Michelle (his mom). Her son was about to climb into a car with 400 horsepower and go up to 100 MPH on a track with 11 other racers. Even if she was nervous, she would never let it stop her from being his biggest loudest supporter and we love that about her.

Jacob rents the car from his team, Team Erickson Racing. Both Jacob and his dad, Danny, aren’t obligated to do any of the set up, race day work or break down. However, they are proud to be part of their team and chose to help with all of the above. This is a sport where some kids are fortunate enough to just show up, race and then leave. This isn’t the case for Jacob. His parents are making sure he understands that in a perfect world, you work for what you get.

Like any sport, it comes with it’s expenses. Each race costs around $6500. Our main goal is to find Jacob a sponsor(s) for this racing season. However, if we aren’t able to find one, we are hoping to at least give Jacob a fighting chance to get to the Sonoma West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame where they get to be with NASCAR drivers and attend the awards banquet and dinner. The top 4 drivers in points for the first 4 races will get to attend and Jacob currently sits at number 3.

We wish you could meet this kid and understand why we offered to create this gofundme for him. Jacob by nature is a laid back comedian. When all his mom’s friends are messing with him, he always has the best 1 liner comeback, that always leaves the group shocked by his wittiness and in tears from laughing. He is respectful and growing into the perfect gentleman. He will grow up to be one of the good ones in this world, no doubt. There aren’t many kids like him and we believe he deserves a shot. An anonymous donor came forward and funded his first race for him and his parents were able to fund race number 2. Please, help us find a sponsor to get him through the rest of the season or help us fund his next few races.
