Hi, I’m Jacob and I'm running the Manchester Marathon on 27th April 2025 for Anaphylaxis UK.

Anaphylaxis is a serious and life-threatening allergic reaction. The reaction affects the whole body, causing swelling of the tongue and throat, breathing difficulties, and circulation impairment, among other symptoms. In the most severe cases, it can result in death.

The number of people with severe allergies and at risk of anaphylaxis is rising. Therefore, awareness is vital, to prevent anaphylaxis, to be able to recognise the symptoms, and to know what to do if someone is experiencing this. Research into new preventions and treatments for allergies is also needed.

Anaphylaxis UK is the only UK-wide charity to exclusively meet the needs of the growing numbers of people at risk from severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). We help thousands of children and adults reduce the risk of severe allergic reactions, and help with continuing research in this field. Help us help people with severe allergies live their lives.
