Hello Family and Friends – It brings us tremendous sorrow to share the news of our beloved Jacob’s tragic passing. Anyone who met him knew that Jake was a truly special human: smart, hilarious, talented, generous, resilient, kind, goal-oriented and hard-working. He was deeply present, focused wholly on whomever he was speaking to, ready to offer wisdom or wit, but usually both (and a Chris Farley impression, if you were lucky). We don’t have the words to express how greatly he will be missed or how many lives he touched.

If you were fortunate enough to count yourself among Jake’s friends and family, then you know that he was always ready to lend a helping hand. In the wake of this unexpected and terrible news, we are asking that you channel a bit of Jacob’s energy to help out in his time of need as we contend with the mounting costs resulting from this sudden loss. Relocating him back to Aurora, arranging a befitting memorial, and helping arrange housing for those who were dependent on him are among our top priorities, but each of these items is costly, and none of us were prepared for it.

There is no good time for a tragedy, but the week after Christmas is especially cruel in this regard. We understand that money is tight and want you to know that your contributions are valued beyond measure. But where a donation is impossible, we believe that prayer is just as important. Please keep Jake’s family, especially Brooklin and Emeri, his parents, his brothers, and his friends in your thoughts and hearts as we enter a new year and prepare to carry on Jake’s spirit in a way that would make him proud and give him the send off that he deserves.

Jacob’s Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Castle Rock on Friday January 13th at 10:00am. Reception will follow. All are welcome.
