On June 22nd Jacob experienced chest pain. His family called 911 and he was rushed to the ER. While at the ER the doctors made a startling discovery. The high school 3 sport athlete and now college linebacker had a dissecting aortic aneurism. He was airlifted to Methodist Hospital. There he received open heart surgery which was worse than initially thought as he had to have a heart valve replacement in addition to the aorta repair. Jacob spent 14 hours in surgery and has been in the ICU since. He is expected to require extensive assist for recovery due to the nature of his surgery. He will require therapies to regain strength and heart function. monies raised would be used to allow for his family to miss work to be home to care for him. There are concerns about their jobs and potentially exposing him to COVID 19 which could cause a major set back for him. His mom is a nurse and his father works in the cities so they would prefer to not be in and out of their jobs and possibly bringing illness home to Jacob. Any money donated would be used to help with bills and caring for Jacob. Please see Jacob’s caring bridge page for updates.
