Jacob Moore's Kidney Transplant Surgery

Donation protected
From Mark and Rosetta Moore

Dear Family and Friends,

Our oldest son, Jacob, has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease. We were shocked and heart-broken when he was hospitalized in April of 2019 with extremely high blood pressure and compromised kidney function. Over the next seven months, the disease grew worse causing his kidney function to significantly decline. Just before Thanksgiving, he was hospitalized again and put on dialysis. Jacob, who is (only 38) gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized at a young age. He has lived his life in ministry to others using the many gifts God has given him. Jacob and our daughter-in-love, Angelique, have been married almost 13 years and have 4 precious children. They are blessed with three-year old Caleb, eight-year old twins, Taylor, and Tanner, and the oldest son, Niah who is eleven. The twins were adopted from foster care on February 14, 2019, just less than 2 months before he was first hospitalized. Jacob is successfully self-employed, and we are so thankful that he has been able to continue to work even with being on dialysis three times a week for four hours. His company, Earsight Design, installs church and commercial sound systems, as well as residential projects. He travels all over Texas and beyond to support his family.
After months of testing of family and friends, God provided Jacob with a kidney donor match! This selfless donor, Liana Dickson, lives in California and is a high school friend of Angelique’s. Liana learned from a Facebook post last December that Jacob needed a kidney, and she graciously offered to be tested as a match. We found out months later, Liana is an answer to our many prayers, and we are deeply grateful beyond words. She has a beautifully generous heart to give one of her kidneys to someone she has never met. The average wait time is five years or more for a kidney and that is from a deceased donor. A live kidney transplant for Jacob will mean new freedom, no dialysis, and the ability to live a longer, healthier, more normal life with Angelique, supporting and spending time raising their family of six.
Jacob’s family faces a substantial financial load, both now and after the transplant. Although we are very thankful for medical insurance and personal savings, this will not cover everything. Mark and I humbly ask our family and friends, to give to ease this enormous financial burden. The expenses include flights to and from California, lodging and food for Liana, her husband and their two children for three weeks. Also, the lodging and food in San Antonio (for Jacob and Angelique) and traveling expenses back forth from Abilene, when the children are brought several times to see their father in San Antonio, during the weeks after he is discharged. Lastly, funds are needed to help with basic living expenses, since Jacob will be off work for several weeks.

Throughout everything, we have never stopped praying for a miracle and asking the body of Christ to pray on Jacob’s behalf. Always thankful for God’s Amazing Grace and Love. We have seen the Lord’s Faithfulness and Goodness every step of the way. Forever grateful for Liana’s willing heart to come to Texas with her husband Keith weeks ago (July 7-9) in the middle of the height of corona virus for the final testing. May God richly bless the Dickson family.
With All Our Hearts, we thank you for your interest in coming along side us with support and most of all for continuing to pray for protection, favor, and peace for the family as Jacob undergoes this life-changing surgery.
We are praying the Lord’s Richest Blessing over your life. (Numbers 6:24-26)
