9/14/16 was a day that completely rocked our lives to the core. We went to the hospital thinking we were going for a more in-depth ultrasound that our OB couldnt provide. Two weeks prior we had an ultrasound where they said they couldn't see all four heart chambers or determine the sex due to the baby moving around. Little did we know we were seeing a Pediatric Cardioligist who was scheduled to confirm an early diagnosis.
After about an hour of ultrasound/echo tests we were sat down and told that our unborn son has HPHLS - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Basically he's going to be born with half of a working heart. There are a series of open-heart surgeries that will hopefully re-plumb the heart to function on 2 instead of 4 chambers. Needless to say it is not an easy or guaranteed road ahead but we couldn't be in better hands at the Cleveland Clinic.
Any and all support is appreciated; prayers especially. If you feel that you would like to help support the financial aspect of Jacob's journey then Robyn, Jane, Jacob and I are infinetly grateful.
