Jacob Duncan’s Hospitalization

After a lot of thought and consideration Jacob decided to have the gastric sleeve on December 12. He had diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He wanted to live a longer, healthy life with his family. Within a couple days he became septic due to a gastric leak. This is an extremely rare complication. His stomach ballooned and he was in agonizing pain. The infection was so bad he spent the first couple days terrified in full hallucinations. He also contracted c-diff, and if you have had it, you know is absolutely miserable. He is dealing with some other complications too. Since then he's had 2 surgeries, one to place a stent in the leak, and one to place a drain. It is possible he may need more. He is still hospitalized. Once he gets out he will have to have a PIC line for nutrition. This means no food or drinks for a couple months at least. The doctor's project a 3-6 month recovery if everything is on the right track. Jacob is the main provider for his family. He has 4 kids. His fiancé  Claire has been living at the hospital with him. Neither of them have worked in a couple weeks. It will be a long time for he has able to work. Claire plans to go back part time eventually, but in the coming days she needs to be at the hospital until he's on a better track. Then she will need to be home for awhile since he won't be able to do much on his own. Please consider donating, Jacob, Claire, and their kids would appreciate it.
