Hello Friends and Family,
In case you don't know me - I'm Ethan Cross. I'm a close friend of Jacob's (we've been friends since he was 13) and I've known Joy for almost as long. Jacob and Joy are a part of my family, and Jacob is my best-man and godparent to my daughter, Caroline.
Jacob is continuing his fight against brain cancer and is currently involved in a Phase-I experimental trial (for further reading on this groundbreaking research, see The M032 trial design paper ). Side effects from the trial caused immense swelling in his brain, which unfortunately lead to a stroke and an emergency surgery to relieve the pressure. Post operation, Jacob was in a coma and his scans showed significant brain trauma. However, he is on the path to recovery and is out of his coma and staying, as he always is, a fighter and an example for all of us. He continues to make enormous strides towards recovery daily (most recently giving us a "thumbs up").
I am starting this GoFundMe to help pay for the daily expenses for the foreseeable future for Jacob and Joy. Funds will be disbursed to pay for their living expenses and remove any worry about financial obligations from their plate as they navigate the road to recovery.
