To know Jaclyn Wadas, is to know what it means to have a true friend. Selfless, caring and honest.
Jaclyn was diagnosed with stage one ductal carcinoma-breast cancer just two weeks prior to her 29th birthday. It all began in May of 2015, when she discovered a lump in her right breast through self-examination. She thought what any 28 year old would think, it’s probably nothing. After numerous appointments with different doctors, multiple specialists, mammograms, and countless biopsies it was confirmed that Jaclyn did indeed have breast cancer. This news is something you never want to hear about a loved one.
It not only devastated our family but also Jaclyn’s boyfriend Mark Federman and his three boys, who lost their beautiful mother 6 years prior to breast cancer.
With the help and support of her loving family, devoted friends and all those who's life she has touched, we are joining with her in her journey to beat cancer. Will you join with us?
Less than a week following a double mastectomy, she was later she was told the cancer had spread to her lymph node where she was re-diagnosed with stage two ductal carcinoma-breast cancer and chemotherapy was now a requirement. We couldn’t help but weep with agony and feel the fear that Jaclyn felt. As if this news wasn’t devastating enough, Jaclyn went into emergency surgery three days later to remove a hematoma in her left breast. She is finally healing and getting mentally and physically stronger each day. She will continue to fight this cancer by starting chemotherapy in mid-April.
Jaclyn has been a hair stylist for 8 years at Misano’s Salon. She loves making each client feel beautiful and confident. Since her diagnosis and subsequent surgeries and treatments, Jaclyn has not been able to work and her insurance is covering the minimums. Jaclyn would never ask for help from anyone but that is what she has us for. As Jaclyn’s family, the last thing we want her to worry about is how she is going to pay for all of this.
All proceeds raised will help Jaclyn pay her recent and future medical expenses. Cancer affects so many people in our community, but this time it hits home for us. We are asking everyone to please join us in the support of Jaclyn as she fights this horrible disease.
We cannot express our gratitude enough for all your love, support, and prayers. Thank you.
