Jacky's Lifesaving Act: Support Her Family

My name is Courtney Porter-Tetreault. I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my Sister.

If you know family, you know we are the last ones to ask for help. But here we are…

My sister, Jacky Porter, is a single mother of 4 amazing kids, a dog mom to Atlas, an EMT/Firefighter. She is always the first to help where it’s needed and soon to be a Living Liver Donor!

When Jacky found out that a close family friend, Rodney Brooks, would need a liver transplant, she immediately reached out because she knew her blood type was a match to Rodney. She wanted to know about the process and what she needed to do to become Rodney's Liver Donor. This was an easy decision for Jacky to make because almost 5 years ago, Rodney not only saved Jacky but he saved Jared Porter (father to their 4 children) by taking them to their first AA meeting.

Jacky recently went through all of the testing and meetings in Boston to become the Liver Donor for Rodney. On June 17th, 2025, Jacky received the phone call we were all waiting for. Jacky was not only a match but Rodney’s medical team has accepted her as his Liver Donor!! Surgery is set for July 16th, 2025, in Boston at Beth Israel Lahey.

After the Liver Transplant, Jacky will be on VERY STRICT orders to do nothing for 6 weeks. That means no lifting over 10 lbs. We all know that’s not gonna be easy for Jacky.

While Jacky has an amazing support system here in Maine, she still has to provide and care for her 4 kids and her dog, and we all know the bills don’t stop.
