Jacky Love

Donation protected

Hey everyone,

As some of you may know, due to a devastating house fire this past Friday, our parents, Brian and Traci lost three of their four pets. Two dogs, Mac and Harper, and one cat, Allie.

Emergency services made heroic efforts to save their lives, but the injuries proved too severe. Miraculously, our other cat Jack, or “Jacky Love,” as we affectionately call him, survived, and with the help of the incredible staff at Newtown Veterinary Hospital has been fighting for his life. Jack has made great progress over the past few days, but is still unable to walk and needs assistance eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom. Needless to say, he has a long recovery ahead of him and will be spending a bit more time in the hospital until he’s stabilized and able to move back with our parents.

We have received an outpouring of support for our family over the past few days and we want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Our parents live simply, work very hard, and love their animals to no end. When asked if they need anything, it always comes back to the pets. Jack’s survival has been one of the few lights in this unimaginably dark time.

Our parents, as they always have, are planning to do anything in their power to support Jack’s recovery, and with that comes a heavy financial burden. The hospital graciously waived the cost of rescue efforts for Mac, Harper, and Allie, but Jack’s hospital bill is already well over $4,000, plus the $600 cost of cremation for Mac, Harper, and Allie.

We are asking for any donation, no matter the amount, to assist with these costs and relieve some of the financial burden related to Jack’s continued recovery and hospital stay. With the trajectory of Jacks recovery still unknown, our goal is to raise $7,500 to get things started.

Our parents have said that if there is any money leftover they would like to donate it to emergency, animal rescue, and veterinary services.

Again, we thank you more than words can express and hope you all give your fur babies an extra big hug tonight.

With love and kindness,

Courtney and Sarah
