Jackson’s Last Leg
Donation protected
I did not want to do this, as we have used this format before in our emergency. However, I got up this morning and Jackson was limping very badly and obviously in pain. I have given him two doggy aspirins but he is not moving. I know what the problem is and the solution is. We have had an x-ray done to confirm the problem. It is a torn ACL, again , on the opposite leg from the last one. It is in evitable that the surgery to correct that the other one eventually the opposite one will go out from overuse. I have been in denial for over two years hoping it would correct itself but today I see you that is no solution. I am only doing this fundraising out of desperation as I know it’s the holidays and I bad time but I will try anything for Jackson. We just had a major expense three weeks ago with having to put Zia Wynette down with extensive vet bills and medicines and the cremation. There is never a good time there for these emergencies. I am going to sell some of my jewelry to speed it along because this time I cannot be in denial. His quality of life is being affected. Not to mention , Ryman Boudreaux, At 16 years old, has to have me pick him up every time just to stand and carry him everywhere. I can’t possibly think about putting him down as we just did Zia and that has been devastating for us as it was so unexpected. So we will try one more time to raise a little money to help Jackson have the quality of life he so deserves. Not to mention, I will have to drive 30 hours to Nashville, counting rest stops, to have this Surgery as it is not only better but cheaper in Nashville. Jackson is worth anything I can do as he is the most loving boy I have had in all the standard poodles since I was 10 years old. I am watching him as I write and it breaks my heart. So, if you can’t find it in your heart during this busy holiday season to help Jackson walk again , I would appreciated it from the bottom of my heart. Thank you and advance for your compassion and consideration for helping my dear companion.
