Jared and Heather Bishop with their daughter Aubrey and their son Jackson have started the awfully long and life altering journey. Many of you may or may not know Jackson, but a few weeks ago everything changed.
The nightmare began on Monday November 30th when Heather and Jared took Jackson to the hospital. Jackson’s tummy was bloated, and he had been not feeling well for over a week. That Monday was the start of a complete blur of endless tests, several scans & X-rays, meetings with doctors... & lots of prayers! On Tuesday December 1st, Jackson’s parents received the heart wrenching diagnosis of Neuroblastoma, an incredibly rare and notoriously difficult and extremely aggressive cancer to treat due to its fast-growing nature. That was the day our world came crashing down. We were told to prepare for an extremely long and difficult road ahead.
The tumor was so large and spread across much of his abdomen and pushing against several vital organs. When we initially saw those first scans, we could not comprehend how much of his little body was consumed with cancer. On December 2nd, we found out that it was stage 4 of neuroblastoma and that it is a majority in his abdomen and spreading to his legs. As quick as the diagnosis came, the aggressive chemo started right afterwards. There is a 70% chance of getting rid of the cancer and a 30% chance of it staying or coming back.
This Christmas is going to be extremely difficult for us as Jackson must stay through Christmas in the hospital and not sure at the moment when he will be able to come home. As you can imagine treatment is expensive and funds that are raised will help alleviate some of the financial stresses associated with caring for a seriously ill child as well as travel, accommodation and living expenses involved in multiple hospital stays and clinic. Your generosity can help lighten the load so they can focus on fighting this battle and support one another.
Also, if you are not in the position to donate and want to send Jackson a card address the card to Heather Bishop and send it to P.O. Box 1955 Hollister CA 95024.

Thank you and we will keep you updated!
