Jackson's Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected

A year and a half ago, when Jackson was 11, he was diagnosed with GATA2 deficiency, a rare genetic disease. It causes immune deficiency and results in severe infections, respiratory problems, hearing loss and leg swelling. If left untreated his condition will continue to deteriorate and progress into leukemia . Jackson’s case has been followed, reviewed and accepted for treatment by NIH, The National Institute of Health/National Cancer Institute. NIH recommends that Jackson undergo a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. NIH has secured a 10/10 unrelated donor match.
Jackson has many people who love him dearly but his biggest fan and supporter is his mother, Julia. She is a hard working Critical Care RN and single mother. Julia has raised Jackson beautifully by herself. However, taking him across the country from Portland, Oregon to Bethesda, Maryland to receive his bone marrow transplant will put an enormous financial strain on their sweet little family. Julia has taken a leave of absence from her job so she can be with Jackson every single day during treatment. He will be receiving treatment at NIH from July 2018 to December 2018 if there are no complications. During this time they will not have an income.
We, Jackson’s fan club, want to help Julia and Jackson as much as possible. We are raising money to offset the cost associated with this very big, challenging and miraculous endeavor! For example, monies raised will help with travel/moving and medical expenses incurred while Julia is unable to work.
Every contribution will help this family through this time. Please consider donating to help Jackson and his Mom through this unimaginable crisis.
