Jack's Journey

Jack Traynor is a loving father, husband, brother and son. He is also very humble and not one to ask for help but, is always willing to help others. We are now asking for help on Jack's behalf.
Jack’s journey began 17 years ago when it was discovered he had a kidney disease called, IgA nephropathy. Jack did everything he could to slow down the progression of the disease including surgery, experimental drugs, and exercise. He had and continues to have a strong determination to stay healthy and has maintained his diet and regiment of multiple vitamins and medications throughout this entire process.
Jack is now at the stage of his journey where his disease has progressed to the point where he only has 5% kidney function. After multiple medicine changes, treatments, etc it was time to accept reality and realize it was time to tell family and friends that he needed a kidney and he began the process of getting on the transplant list. He has been very fortunate and a wonderful friend stepped forward, went through the donor process, and was found to be a match. The operation is scheduled for June 18th. With the kidney transplant comes a lifetime of immune-suppressive drugs, medications, and trips to the doctors to make sure he doesn’t reject the new kidney. This means extremely large medical bills each month, even with insurance.
As we all know, stress is not good for our health. Jack will need all the strength he has to recover and move forward to a healthy life. People often ask how they can help. One way, would be to donate to help relieve the stress of medical bills. No donation is too small. As his grandfather always said "many hands make light work."
