Help Jack’s Journey:A Trans Man’s Fight Against Complication
Donation protected

Hi, my name is Jack Fonder, and I've been on a life-changing journey to align my body with my true self. Over the past few years, I’ve undergone six surgeries as part of my transition, including four bottom surgeries over the past two years. Just last October, I celebrated what I hoped would be my final surgery.
However, a painful complication has recently arisen, requiring another surgery to fix it. This unexpected setback means that my wife and I need to travel back to Texas for this specialized surgery, where the best team for this procedure is located. We'll be away for 12 days, and I’ll need time to recover and adjust.
This has been particularly tough as insurance starts over in January, and I must pay $5,000 upfront to ensure the surgery happens in February. We also need to cover travel and lodging costs for the trip to Texas, and during recovery, my income will be limited as I can't work my part-time job. All in all, we need to raise at least $8,000 to cover the surgery, travel expenses, lodging, and lost income while I recover. Anything above that will help to cover the extra costs for deductibles and extras.
This journey has been full of challenges, but it has also brought me closer to my family and my community. I work with The Transformation Project, supporting trans people in South Dakota, and I also help clean at a clinic to make ends meet. My wife, a wonderful woman who has been my biggest supporter, works hard as well, and together, we are raising three incredible kids.
I hate to ask for help, but right now, we really need it. Your support—whether through a donation or simply sharing this—would mean the world to me and my family. If you’re able to assist, it will help us get through this next chapter and allow me to focus on healing and advocating for the community I love.
Thank you so much for your support!
With gratitude,
Jack Fonder
