Cap'n Jack needs a new set of lungs.  Jack served in the Army during the First Gulf War and was exposed to toxic gas.  He developed fibrosis in his lungs a few years ago and now needs a transplant.  Jack is in the "window" for lung transplantation at Duke Hospital.  

Transplants are a lifelong process!  He travels to Duke often for evaluations and once he is ready, he will move to Durham for a minimum of 5 weeks of pre transplant PT, next will be the waiting list, then transplant, then a minimum of 5 weeks post PT.  This is followed by life long medication and travel to Durham for follow up care.
Funds are needed for medical bills, travel to and from Duke, living expenses once he is on site, care provision and all of those unexpected expenses that pop up.
