Honoring Jack: A Fundraiser for Jack’s Hub Youth Club
Hi, my name is Gemma, and I’m starting this fundraiser to support my partner, Darren Lloyd, who tragically lost his 16-year-old son, Jack on April 4th at Crown Lakes facet Peterborough as he was out with his friend and unfortunately drowned this has left us heart broken
As many of you already know, this has been an incredibly difficult time for our family. In honor of Jack, Darren has decided to create Jack’s Hub Youth Club, a place where teenagers can come together, find support, and stay safe. Over the last few weeks, we’ve spoken to many of Jack’s friends and other local teens. We’ve heard their stories, and it’s clear that many of them are dealing with struggles—whether it’s family issues or simply not having a safe place to hang out.
Jack’s Hub will be a free, accessible space for teenagers, especially during school holidays, where they can meet, talk, and engage in positive activities. We want to create a space where kids feel heard—somewhere they can talk about anything without fear of judgment.
Additionally, Darren is passionate about using Jack's story to raise awareness about the dangers of open water spaces, such as lakes and brick pits. He wants to make sure that young people and their families are aware of the risks, so that no other family has to go through what we have. This mission is close to Darren’s heart, and he believes that by spreading awareness and offering support, we can save lives.
We hope to use this fundraiser to help bring Jack’s Hub to life. Here’s what we plan to do with the funds:
Boxing equipment and a ring to offer physical activities.
A lounge area where teens can come together, relax, and talk.
Games and other activities to keep the kids engaged and active.
We aim to start with a community hall, and if all goes well, we hope to expand into a larger venue in the future. This project means everything to Darren, and he’s committed to making a difference in the community, so no other family has to experience this kind of heartbreak.
We’ll be sharing updates throughout this process, and we’re planning to launch a Facebook page soon to keep everyone informed. We’re asking for the community’s help to make this dream a reality, and we believe that together, we can make a lasting impact.
If you’re a business or individual and would like to offer any support—whether that’s furniture, equipment, old machines, or anything else that could help—please don’t hesitate to get in touch at [email redacted]
I believe our children and teenagers need more support in making difficult decisions—decisions they often face without the guidance of their parents. It's so important that we empower them to feel heard, valued, and informed. Through Jack’s Hub, we hope to change lives by showing teens that they’re not alone, and that they deserve happiness and safety.
Jack has made us very proud for who he was and we will forever miss him he has certainly broken us as a family but we are going to honour his name for a very long time to keep his legacy alive for years to come ❤️
Thank you so much for your support. Darren and I truly appreciate any contributions—whether that’s a donation, sharing this campaign, or just offering words of encouragement.
We’ve also been contacted by professionals and personal trainers from local gyms who will be supporting our journey, ensuring that safety is a priority on the days we operate.
This will be a space for teenagers and the new generation, and everyone is welcome to be a part of it.
If you would like to be a part of this project or offer your support in any way, please feel free to contact us. We’d love to work together to make a difference in the lives of local teenagers
of course is this campaign dose not be successful we will still try and do this jack’s Hub best we can any support is better for us to achieve
