Hi Everyone,

my name is Jack. I’m writing this on the day of my 31st birthday. I’m a trans woman based in Berlin, and I’m reaching out to ask for support in accessing the next step of my transition.

Just under three years ago, I began my transition, which has been the biggest act of love I have ever given myself. It has allowed me to live more authentically and to finally feel aligned with who I truly am. Now, I am ready to take the next step in my journey: saving towards facial feminisation surgery (FFS).

FFS is vital to my transition, as it will provide me with greater safety and freedom of movement in public spaces, while easing the gender dysphoria I experience daily. It is about ensuring that the way I feel on the inside is reflected on the outside, allowing me to move through the world with greater confidence and peace.

Unfortunately, facial feminisation surgery is not covered by German health insurance, meaning I must fund it privately. After consultations with surgeons, I have found the surgeon I wish to proceed with and have decided to undergo a rhinoplasty and a brow bone reduction. The total cost for these procedures is €15,000.

I am doing everything I can to save towards this goal by working full time, taking on casual jobs within nightlife, and planning upcoming fundraising events. However, as the cost of these procedures is very high and will take a long time to cover on my own, I wanted to ask for the support of my community if they are in a position to help.
