Jack's Birthday Cake Kits for OLQP Food Pantry

Hi,

For my Confirmation community service project, I am working on something really cool — Birthday cake kits!

Our church has a food pantry. Before COVID they handed out 200 bags of groceries every week. Now because of COVID they hand out 600 bags which is triple the bags of groceries each week!

I have helped my mom with the food pantry this year and see that the food in the bags is mostly the same stuff, like rice, beans, cereal and pasta. I think it would be great if we gave them birthday cake kits!

My mom helped me figure out what to put inside of each kit. We even made a practice cake using a can of soda instead of eggs and oil because that works better for the food pantry. The cake tasted really good because of the soda! Then we went shopping to check out prices. I think the price of each birthday cake kit will cost about $3.50.

Will you please help me with this project? I think it is a cool idea because it makes me sad that some people don't have a birthday cake for their birthday, and it would make me happy if they did have one for their birthday. My goal is to make as many cake kits as possible so lots of families that go to the food pantry will get to have a birthday cake kit.

You can donate any amount of money that you want. All of the money will buy the stuff for the birthday cake kits, and I will put them all together and bring them to our church to distribute at the food pantry this summer.
