Some dogs wait a long time for the right family. Jack's wait is almost over.

Jack is a three-year-old blue American Pitbull Terrier from Wyoming, Michigan. He's 70 pounds of gentle devotion with a puppy-soft head and a signature move his friends call the "floopy dooper," a full-body wiggle dance he performs at every mealtime. He knows sit, shake, snuggle, and "ni-night," which leads straight to bed. He is, in every way that matters, a professional companion.

And now he has a family. They're getting settled in rural Maine, and they're ready for him: the fenced yard, the daily walks, the movie nights on the couch he was born for.

The last hurdle is the road itself. Getting a big boy like Jack safely across the country takes real money: $650 for fuel, tolls, and attentive care over the long drive east. His family is getting settled now, and we hope to get Jack home by early September.
