My name is Jackie, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Halloweeen, 2016.  December 15-double mastectomy, and chemo starts soon.  I turned 65 in September, am single, no children (except two furry ones named Duke and Penny).  Fortunately, I have wonderful friends, who help run errands, clean house, bring meals, but with limited ability to help financially.   Medicare and insurance are taking care of most of the bills, but deductibles, co-pays and non-covered items are adding up.  My goal is to not have to spend retirement paying off medical bills.  Any excess will be given to my local American Cancer Society so they can buy wigs and prosthetics for other cancer survisors.  Yes, I intend to be a survivor.
