I have type 1 diabetes and suffer from severe highs and lows. A long list of other medical problems have stemmed from my diabetes. Too often the severe lows happen when I'm sleeping and i have to have assistance with waking and regulating my glucose levels. I was on an insulin pump for several years that helped regulate it some. But, with the rising cost of insurance premiums and co-pays, i had to go off the pump and back on injections. My blood sugars are no longer stable and have too often caused close calls. The initial down payment of $3,000 is required to get the service dog started in training. The entire cost ranges from $15,000 to $20,000. Luckily, all that is required in the beginning is the down payment. The rest can be covered sometimes with grants and smaller monthly payments. I greatly appreciate any help with the funds started in getting the process of the service dog trained.
