4/13 Update
Today 4/13 the doctors approved mom's transfer to a Long-Term Acute Care facility. Here they will continue to wean her off of the life support systems, as well as start giving her physical rehabilitation. The facility has daily visiting hours and David and I continue to stay by her side. The doctors anticipate she will be in recovery for several months. She is in for a long fight but continues to strengthen each day.

Over the past week my mom has continued to steadily improve. She is now down to dialysis treatments every third day, and is continuing to be weaned off the ventilator. She is more alert and responsive each day, and is able to smile and nod. She can't speak fully yet, but is able to mouth words and have conversation with David and me.

We have made sure to tell her how much love and support all of our family and friends have been giving us.

Overall, my mom slowly but steadily continues to improve. She does face a potentially lengthy recovery, but we will be with her every step of the way, and we again thank all of you for your outpouring of support.

4/7 Update
We continue to be touched by the outpouring of love and support.

My mom remains strong and continues to fight. The doctors have been able to tone down her dependence on the life support systems and she has passed her first breathing test to get off of the ventilator. She is now receiving traditional dialysis daily versus the previous continuous dialysis. The doctors have yet to conclusively diagnose her, but nonetheless note her numbers are slowly improving. She occasionally opens her eyes and nods her head, but the neurologist is not yet comfortable deeming her "awake". Overall, she is still very sick but is fighting hard and slowly but steadily improving. Thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

4/1 Update
Thank you all for continuing to support our family. Not much has changed since the last update, but my mom is now off all the BP pressors. She is not out of the woods by any means, as she is still having clotting issues. They may switch her to traditional dialysis today to see how she tolerates it. She is still not conscious but David and I have been by her side, rarely leaving the hospital. She’s continuing to fight. We are so thankful for the outpouring of love and support we received. Thank you from our hearts.

3/27/23 Update
We are truly overwhelmed by the support we have received and thank you all so much. My mother is facing an uphill battle, but she continues to fight. She is still on life support and we are praying for complete healing. We have been by her side nearly around the clock so she knows she is not alone. We will continue to post updates to keep everyone informed. Again, thank you so much for all the love you have shown.

Dear Family & Friends,
Unexpectedly, my mother Jackie Rush, was admitted to the hospital on March 24, 2023, and diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease. She is currently in critical condition, on life support, fighting for her life. We pray my mother will make it through this, and when she does she faces an uphill battle because she will need weekly dialysis treatments indefinitely going forward. We are thankful for anything you can give to contribute towards her current and ongoing medical bills. She has always been there for her family and now it is our turn to be there for her. She has been unconscious and on life support since yesterday, March 24th. Our family will be forever grateful for your support. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
