Jackie & Jeff Martins

Bell employees,

I’m sharing some devastating news about two Bell team members in hopes that we can come together as an organization and family to help some employees who need support.

Jackie and Jeff Martins have worked for Bell Nursery for several years (Jackie for 18 years and her husband Jeff for several seasons). Jackie currently works for Bell in Ocean City, MD, as a Store Supervisor.

Before coming to Bell, Jeff and Jackie worked in the telecom industry until their retirement in 2005. As a way to stay busy, Jackie joined us at Bell Nursery, never planning to take on another full-time job. But she fell in love with working with live plants and flowers and has been with us ever since. We feel very lucky that Jackie and her husband chose to work with us after retirement.

In their spare time, Jackie and Jeff have devoted their lives to rescuing abused and elderly animals with no other place to go. They are amazing pillars of the community and treasured members of the Bell Nursery family.

Jackie and Jeff lost everything in a tragic house fire on 3/29/23. From family heirlooms, photos, and documents, as well as all the rescue animals they were caring for. Thankfully, the Martins are okay but they only have the clothes on their back and their vehicles remaining...EVERYTHING ELSE IS GONE!!!

Please do what you can, if you can, to help Jackie and Jeff recover from this horrific event in their lives.
