Jackie DiPasquale’s Full Recovery From Brain Tumor

Donation protected
On Friday December 21st, our mother was down in Milwaukee visting her family for Christmas weekend (5 hours away from our home). She was perfectly fine up until she was shopping with her twin sister and she suddenly became confused and dizzy and the ambulance was called. She was rushed to St. Luke’s hospital and it was discovered that she suffered an acute stroke secondary to bleeding in the brain caused by a brain tumor. She had three consecutive seizures and was put on life support. She’s been in the neuro icu unit since then. At this time the outcome is unknown. We are raising money for out of pocket medical expenses, lost time from work, traveling, and food & living expenses while recovering 5 hours away from home. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers this Christmas as we spend ours in the hospital watching our own mother fight for her life. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. Thank you and Merry Christmas to you all.

***Update 2/5/19***
Our mom was in the neuro icu at St. Luke’s for a total of 23 days. She had a infection in and around her lungs that prolonged her hospital stay along with other complications while at St. Luke’s. She was discharged on January 14th while needing 4 weeks of home care in Milwaukee. She was staying with her twin sister and another sister (who conveniently live right next door to each other!) while getting treated with iv antibiotics and slowly recovering from everything she went through. She has been in tremendous amounts of pain from her chest tubes, infection and the surgery to remove the fluid from her lungs. She hasn’t been able to do much, she gets short of breath and has been very weak. Her heart hasn’t fully recovered. She was getting medications for anti-seizures, heart failure, and of course iv antibiotics. On January 30th, she suffered from 3 grand mal seizures and the ambulance had to come and take her back to the hospital. This time we wanted her to go to Froedtert hospital because we as a family felt a lot more comfortable with their care there. She is still there, and is undergoing major brain tumor surgery today. They found another spot in her brain that we won’t know more until after the surgery. She had a lot of swelling around the tumors, so she has been getting steroids to help the swelling. We won’t know if she’s going to have any deficits after the surgery. She is currently suffering from short term memory loss, we are hoping it’s only temporary. She has been in such good spirits. We are hoping to continue raising money for our mom & dad at this time because she has missed a lot of work - and there’s a huge possibility she may not be able to return to work after all this. They are going to have very large hospital bills after this. She has a long road of recovery. We will not know what type of treatment she will need until pathology gets the biopsy back on the tumors. She has been away from home since December 20th, 2018. Those of you who know our mom, know how huge her heart is and how she has helped soo many people. She would do anything for anyone. We need all the help and prayers for her in return. She truly has been through more then anyone can really imagine in these last 3 months..
