We are trekking 5.5km into the clouds. To tackle this challenge, we will need support from local communities. Help us show our gratitude for by giving back to these regions and empowering future generations with access to a better education.
In a land famous for its towering peaks and tumultuous rivers, the bright young minds of Nepal are its greatest natural resource.
Two years after the devastating earthquake that hit Kathmandu, heartache still lingers. Many children were left without parents and forced into tough work conditions at early ages in order to survive.
Our mission is to provide these Earthquake Orphans the opportunity to continue their education, empower their lives and enrich these beautiful communities by giving the youth free access to a quality education.
Jack and Dave will tackle the challenge of two weeks of trekking up to Everest Base Camp. For us to succeed, we will need support from the local Himalayan communities. We will be leaning on these villagers to provide us with food, shelter and guidance as we make our ascent to 5380 meters.
We will work with guides from the region and stay with families from the villages we pass through.
We've set out to raise $10,000 from our friends and family that will go to educational programs for the youth of this region. We have partnered up with the Cloud Base Foundation and Karma Flights to provide the local know how and logistical expertise to ensure these funds deliver maximum impact to the communities.
This $10,000 will go towards providing at least 30 primary school students access to education for a year. This ongoing education will help pull these communities out of the poverty cycle and boost the economy of the region. A $50 donation is a small amount for most of us, but can be transformational for the children of Nepal.
Stay tuned to join us on our journey to Everest Base Camp and view the communities we engage with. Those who donate will receive updates from the villages and students that they have supported.
