Fusilier Jack Wilkes from 5 Platoon, B (Rorke’s Drift) Company, 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer, in early April this year. He was rushed to Southampton ICU to begin the intensive course of Chemotherapy and was unable to deploy to Europe on operations with us.

We have watched our friend deteriorate from his treatment and as such we have challenged ourselves to complete four events in July:

1. The three peaks is now completed done In 22 hours
2. On the 13th of July we are going to run the Manchester Tough Mudder
3. On the 20th of July we are going to conduct a 20-mile TAB with 20kg
4. Finally, on the 29th of July (Jack’s Birthday) we are going to TAB from our Barracks in Tidworth to Southampton Hospital

We are doing these challenges to raise funds for Jack whilst he is in hospital. We will also be attempting a separate challenge with the Army on a different fundraiser later in the year
