Jack Sodman’s Cancer Treatment and Support
Our dear friend, Jack Sodman, is beginning the biggest battle of his life. He has recently begun treatment for emphysema and cancer which is strangulating his airway. On Friday, 1/8/21, he underwent surgery at Henry Ford Hospital to place two stents to open his airway, as well as take a biopsy of the mass. He will begin Chemotherapy and radiation in the near future.
Jack’s declining health and multiple medical appointments have made it impossible to continue his 43 year career at Ovid Elevator Company.
If you have met Jack, you will remember his larger than life presence and booming voice. He never hesitates to offer advice , lend equipment, or a helping hand. Many of us have gotten our freezer beef and turkey sized meat chickens from him over the years. Jack and Kim, his wife of 40+ years, have been outstanding neighbors and friends to many in the community. I am hoping we can make this battle a bit less stressful by easing the financial burden. Thank you for your kind words and support.
I am Laura, a friend and neighbor who is helping to raise funds with the permission of Jack and his family. Any and all proceeds will go directly to Jack’s bank account for him and Kim to use in his battle against cancer.
