Jack and his family start a new future together
Donation protected
Hi my name is Jenny Childs, and I'm Jack's Grandma.
On the 29th October this year, just 2 weeks after his 17th birthday, Jack was injured in a freak accident resulting in him breaking his neck. The diagnosis delivered to the family, was that Jack will never walk again and that he will require substantial rehabilitation to achieve some movement in his arms so that he may manage an electric wheelchair. Being classified as quadriplegic has been a huge shock to Jack but one that he has faced with bravery and courage well beyond his 17 years.
This Fundraiser is being established to raise funds to cover the ongoing expenses that Jack and his family will incur. So many everyday things that aren't covered by the medical system.
Already the family are facing the prospect of having to purchase a new car that can be modified to transport Jack in his chair, the possibility of having to relocate their home to allow for modifications to accommodate Jack's needs and the impact of Jack's mum, Jess, having to limit her work capacity to care for him.
As a family we're all working together to do what we can to support Jack. So many people have offered to help and creating this Fundraiser was a decision that took a lot of time to consider but we hope that with the support and constant love from family and friends, that Jack has a bright and positive future ahead of him.
