As many of you know, Amy was rushed into emergency surgery earlier this week to repair some damage to her spine that was caused by some tumors and associated lesions. During the CT and MRI scans the doctors also found some evidence of cancer in her hip area and femur bone. Amy has been officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer that has spread to the spine, hip, and femur bones. Amy has been moved to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, UT. Amy is tough and ready to fight. She fought through breast cancer in 2023, and a traumatic and near death birth of her beautiful 9 month old daughter last year. Trent and Amy have 5 amazing children; twin boys (13) and three daughters (11, 9, and 9 months). Amy will require 24/7 care and assistance for several months and will be out of work for the foreseeable future with medical bills continuing to build up.
Amy will let the spine incision heal for the next couple weeks then will be starting radiation on February 2nd for several weeks. After radiation, the next step will be to attack the cancer with systemic therapies including chemotherapy and hormone therapy and any other treatments the oncologist have that will help fight this off. This will be a long term, lifelong battle. Amy is also planning to attack this with some alternative treatments that are demonstrating successful outcomes but unfortunately none of these therapies are covered by insurance.
I have started a gofundme account if anybody is able to or interested in making a monetary donation. I know some people prefer to donate directly through Venmo so I have included that information as well. Please share this information far and wide so we can help support this family during their fight against cancer. Thank you for the prayers, support, and love for this family.
