This beautiful young woman, sustained a completely unexpected and devastating fall on February 21st that resulted in a severe head injury. Although the first responders and paramedics did all they could and managed to restart Jacinta’s heart with CPR, the family was told shortly after that Jacinta’s neurologic function had completely ceased and that she would never recover from her injuries. With a heavy heart she was taken off life support on February 23rd. She was the only daughter of her loving Mother Irene Gravanda and brothers Aaron and Fran Penksyzk.
It’s exceedingly rare in this life to meet someone as kind, caring and wonderful as Jacinta. Jacinta was a SUNY Brockport Alumnus and graduated with a degree in History and later a Master’s in library science at UB. She had a smile that could light up a room, an amazing sense of humor and a zest for life. She loved to laugh and be silly and although she struggled with many adversities, she always remained warm, loving and kind. She loved funny movies like Police Academy, Naked Gun and Austin Powers, history, animals, Star Wars, superheroes and Annie Lennox. She liked to take walks and spend time with her family and friends. She was an amazing friend, daughter, sister and Aunt to several beautiful nieces and nephews.
We are raising money to cover the costs of the funeral and memorial services for Jacinta’s family as this passing was extremely sudden and unexpected and the family does not have the financial means to cover expenses. No amount is too small. Thank you so much for any assistance you may be able to provide.
