Jace Llamas

My husband Micah & I have 3 boys, 2 of which have Cystic Fibrosis. Jace (9) and Jonah (4) Currently Jace is hospitalized at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. This is his 3rd admission  here in the last 15 months. He was first admitted November 2018 for 28 days due to him having ABPA. (ABPA is a pulmonary disorder that often occurs in patients with asthma or cystic fibrosis (CF) and is characterized by a hypersensitivity response to the allergens of the fungus Aspergillus fumigatus) Jace's second admission was November 2019 for 11 days due to him having a pulmonary lung exacerbation. During that stay he was also diagnosed with asthma. Which was a surprise finding out that this guys now has asthma and CF all in one. I could only imagine how difficult breathing must be for him at times. (Cystic fibrosis is characterized by chronic respiratory infections resulting in progressive loss of lung function and decreased survival, and is marked by acute worsening of symptoms, called pulmonary exacerbation) So now just 3 short months later, February 2020 Jace is back admitted at CHLA. This admission is a bit more complicated then the past two. Jace has been sick for over a month now with pneumonia. Specifically, a bacterial pneumonia. And we don't know what kind of bacteria this pneumonia is. All we know as of now is it seems to be a resilient one. Unfortunately, all our attempts to rid this pneumonia at home had failed. His lung X-rays were showing that his lungs weren't healing, in fact the were only getting worse and his body started to get a fever. He was also becoming very lethargic. We knew this was sever and he need to be seen by his CF pulmonologist. So last Wednesday (February 26th) we brought him in for a sick visit. The doctors agreed that we had tried our best to rid this pneumonia at home but our attempts had failed. So that meant Jace was needing to be admitted once again. Since Jace has been here, this tough guy has gottten an IV placed, multiple pokes for blood draws and glucose readings, a PICC line placed, multiple IV antibiotics, inhaled antibiotics, and many breathing treatments and of course many pills being swallowed. We still are waiting on test results from blood work and sputum cultures to see exactly what kind of bacteria we are dealing with and what the best plan of action will be to beat this illness. Our family greatly appreciates any love, prayers and support. As of now, the last two admissions have been $1,400 each. That's not including, doctors appointment, prescriptions or medical supplies. To be honest, it very difficult for me to ask for help, especially in hard times. Although, I know people love us and want to show us support. So that is why I started this GoFundMe. All the money we receive will be going directly to Jace's medical expenses. That includes, hospital bills, medications, doctors visits and medical supplies. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. We would greatly appreciate if you could please keep Jace and our family in your prayers. We know the Lord is walking along side of us and has big plans in store for this tough little man
