Jace Cody Ray
My son and his wife had their first baby on June 13,2020. His name is Jace Cody Ray. Two days after his birth he was flown to Children’s Hospital for bleeding that wouldn’t stop. Through numerous tests,
they found out that Jace is a Type
A Hemophiliac. He spent 15 days at
children’s while they continually pumpedthe missing factor 8 medicine in his bloodHe also had to undergo 3 blood
transfusions to replace what he’d lost
through the birthing process and tests
that were done. Before being sent home
the drs inserted a pic line through Jaces
groin leading up close to his heart. This is how his parents had to administer the
factor 8 into him every other day as well
as flush it daily. He had been doing great until Wednesday July 15, when he had aninfection set in through that pic line and
into his blood. He is back in children’s
hospital again, where he is receiving
multiple kinds of antibiotics and will be
getting his pic line taken out to keep
infection from coming back. He will haveto be administered his factor 8 now
through an injection given by his parents.
Jace’s mom was laid off back in March
from her job as a dental assistant due to
the COVID 19 virus. Jace’s dad was also
laid off. With Jace’s condition, he
requires around the clock supervision
from family only due to the risk of
bleeding that comes from being a
hemophiliac. And the hospital where
Jace is in is about an hour and a half
from where they live. So they have to
stay in the hospital room and be close by
at all times for Jace. Both of the parents
unemployment benefits will run out at
the end of the month and with the costs
incurred from just day to day living and
bills that will continue to pile up, I want
to try to lift some of the burden off of
them financially so all that they have to
worry about is focusing on their son
and him getting better. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. God bless and
thank you.
