Needing a little help in this holiday season

Donation protected
Thanks to many who donated so generously, the Japanese Art & Culture Center (JACC) has survived the pandemic thus far. However, the arrival of the holiday season and the pandemic's aftereffects are causing another financial struggle as student attendance slows down.

We are seeking additional assistance to pay our December & January rent.

JACC, serving Silicon Valley's diverse communities since 2010, provides a venue to learn and teach Zen meditation-based Asian culture and traditional martial arts from Japan. The Center's classroom offers Japanese language and fine art lessons, while the tatami-matted dojo space holds karate, kendo, aikido, kyudo, iaido and Okinawan Kobudo experiences.

All of our martial art instructors are volunteers donating their time and effort to help children and adults in our communities. Japanese language teachers donate half of the student fees to the Center.

The Center will need an additional $8,000 to stay open until January, when many students are expected to return. We are currently on a month-to-month lease contract, and a failure to deliver a rent check can cause immediate eviction. It is anticipated that January will bring new hope, and the Center will return to its normal operation.

JACC is managed by volunteer staff, so any of the funds we receive will go toward keeping the Center’s doors open. On behalf of our volunteers, teachers and students, we sincerely thank you for your kind and generous support.
