With local operations, specialised team members, and tractors/vehicles and equipment already in place, we’re uniquely positioned to respond faster than anyone else. Our team lives and works in these communities, giving us the access, trust, and capability to deliver immediate, on-the-ground support where it’s needed most.

I'm Alexandra Chong, CEO at Jacana. I’m organising this fundraiser on behalf of families and small businesses in St Ann and surrounding communities affected by Hurricane Melissa, with our 80+ JACANA team supporting them on the ground. With our operations in the heart of St Ann, we have an advantage to quickly mobilise our team and resources (vehicles, tractors, equipment) to get critical support out to affected members of St Ann and neighboring communities.

Who receives the funds

Donations will be paid out to JACANA USA Wellness Inc. (a US-registered corporation). These funds will then be transferred to our Jamaican operating company, JACANA Therapeutics Ltd, which is coordinating the local relief effort.

How funds will be used

Phase 1 - Emergency Relief (Days 0–30): clean water, ready-to-eat meals, shelter kits (tarps, blankets, solar lamps, hygiene), urgent medical support and evacuations, and clearing roads/debris to reopen access for aid.

Phase 2 — Recovery & Rebuild: rebuilding homes and livelihoods; restarting small businesses; reconstructing critical infrastructure (irrigation, backup power, cold storage, access roads) to protect jobs and local supply chains; restoring community essentials (schools, roads, water, power).
