Welcome to the Jabs for Jeff page! We are friends of one of the most amazing men we know, Jeff Dixon. At 12 years old, Jeff was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, a rare muscle disease which decreases mobility and makes everyday tasks increasingly difficult. As the years have progressed, the disease has worsened, but Jeff’s will and determination have only increased.
Jeff never complains or asks for help, and God has laid it on our hearts to find ways WE can help HIM! At the age of 45, he had the opportunity to receive a stem cell injection to help with his muscular dystrophy. He was only able to receive one treatment due to the high cost. The current recommendation for MD patients needing stem cell infusions is three treatments, and WE NEED YOUR HELP raising money for the other two. While there are no guarantees as to how much the stem cell therapy will help him, research shows great improvement of varying degrees for MD patients. Jeff has seen small signs of improvement after his treatment including increased stamina, mental clarity, and muscle strength, along with a decrease in pain and inflammation.
He does so much for others without hesitation, and we want to give him the chance to be helped in return.
It is important to know a little about Jeff to understand the impact he has had on so many lives. He has never let muscular dystrophy stop him from living life to the fullest. Jeff has served the Lord with a cheerful heart at New Hope Baptist Church youth group in Duncan, Oklahoma for 11 years, attending summer camps and assisting throughout the school year as a small group leader. Outside of church, Jeff is on the board for Specially Made Penguins Special Olympics Swim Team, is a Unified Cornhole team member, and serves as a volunteer at Cavett Kids Camp. Jeff loves to compete in adaptive sports and paratriathlons, which fuels his love of swimming, riding his hand cycle, and going for pushes in his racing wheelchair. He has competed in the OKC Marathon, Route 66 Tulsa Marathon, St. Jude’s Ride and Run, and the Endeavor Games in Edmond which assists athletes with physical limitations to take part in sports competitions.
All of these accomplishments are testimony to Jeff maximizing his life’s experiences regardless of circumstances.
Please join us in “Jabs for Jeff” and help us raise enough funds to provide Jeff the two additional stem cell treatments he needs. We want God glorified through it all and trust Him with the outcome!
