Help send JABOCK ROBOT to Worlds!!!

Have you ever had a once in a lifetime opportunity that was within reach, but you needed some help getting there? We have one right now, and we hope you will help us make it a reality.

JABOCK ROBOT
(Just A Bunch Of Cool Kids) is a 6 person robotics team comprised of students from the Cumberland Valley SD and Hershey High School  (4th-9th grade). We are a FIRST LEGO League team committed to the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. We have dedicated countless hours each week since August learning about robotics and programming, conducting project research and implementing the FIRST core values.

As part of our challenge we had to find and solve a real world problem that impacted animals. Our team learned a ton, dreamed, planned, revised and even met with experts  to create an innovative solution to help detect varroa mites in a bee colony. Varroa mites cause several diseases in bees and may even lead to the loss of entire bee colonies if left untreated.  It has been quite a journey, and our innovation might actually become a reality that would be used across the world.

In December we attended the Downingtown Qualifying Tournament and won 3rd place beating 23 other teams which allowed us to advance to the Regional Qualifier. We worked hard at improving our solution over the months of December and January in preparation for the SE Pennsylvania Regional Tournament at the University of Pennsylvania on February 4th.

JABOCK ROBOT received the highest honor of placing 1st in the competition, besting 47 top teams in the region. This win earned us the privilege of  representing Pennsylvania at the prestigious FIRST LEGO League World Festival in St. Louis, MO, April 26-29!  We will be competing with teams from all over the world, including: Spain, Germany, Japan, and South Korea! Out of 32,000 teams in the world, our team will be one of the 100 teams there!

In order to really make an impact at the World Festival and take our solution to the next level we are asking for financial support from the community, our friends and family.

Because FIRST LEGO League invests in the future, we hope you will partner with us to help prepare the next generation of outstanding employees and community leaders living right here in Central PA.

Financial support for the following items would be a huge asset to our team:

-Team registration fees
-Team giveaways: we have to give each team and their members a unique trinket that represents our team and state
-Vendor booth: our team has to set-up and decorate a 10x10 pit at the convention center to represent our team
-Infrared camera: for our innovative prototype/solution

As a token of our appreciation for your financial support, we will list each donor's name on the back of our team t-shirt. Any donor contributing over $200 will receive their company logo or name in bold on the back of the team t-shirt. These shirts will be worn during the World Festival.

Will you consider supporting us? No amount is too small, and any amount would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.  Also, if by some chance we raise too much money we will donate any excess to an organization to help stop the bee colony collapse.

Thank you for believing in us!
