The Jabang Family Needs Aid

This fundraiser is for the Jabang Family in West Africa. My husband and I met them in February and have become very close, considering each other family. We knew they needed financial support and do not have enough to help this whole family get their needs met. We decided to create a GoFundMe to help this family in a time of need. We are hoping to raise enough to give them the opportunities they deserve, but we're starting with asking for financial support for food, rent and electricity.

Mrs. Jabang and her children have been dealing with a devastating family tragedy and have lost all support for the family. Mutual aid is needed to help this family get food at the very least. That is where we are starting here. That is the extreme need and the number one reason this fundraiser was started, to help them get food. The oldest son looks for firewood, but this "job" is one of the few available so there is usually little firewood to find. It is usually not possible to even make enough for a day's meal.

A message from Mrs. Jabang:

"My name is Mrs. Jabang and I'm living in a town called Brikama and from a community called Nema. I am living with my five children in a room only at night. We have no house to live in. My children were once in school and couldn’t really continue schooling cause of the situation that we were living since my husband passed. My family don’t feel happy again since the day it happened and from that day was the day everything changed in my family living from one hardship to another and it’s just me and my son to look after the whole family with nobody to offer help but just me and Lamin alone to look after my family. With my childrens ages the first born is, Lamin, he is 27. The sister who was born after him is Arokey, she’s 22 years of age and her sister after her named Mariama she’s 14 years of age and my littlest named Sungkarr, he is 6 years of age. We need help, please help us"

The Jabang's beautiful country is corrupt, where 50% of the population lives in poverty.

The family has a tough life in their country. They walk miles daily for water and firewood for cooking and showers, electricity is never guaranteed. Food isn’t even a guarantee. Any illness is an emergency because healthcare is not free, and medication is costly. The schools there are also not free. A high school education will still cost thousands of US dollars. This is the only way to a safer environment with opportunities. There is very little chance of getting these kids in school right now, but the least you can do is send $50 or more to get them fed for this week. Please help ensure them food for the next month by sending $250 right now.
