Synchronized swimmers use underwater speakers to hear the music for our routines, allowing us to stay on beat and in synch. We’ve been fortunate to have use of a sound system when we practice with Minnesota’s masters synchro team, the Northern Pikes. Now, as the Sirens begin training for our next competition - ILGA 2019 in NYC - it is time for us to turn it up, and purchase our own sound system.

Who are The Subversive Sirens?
We are a Minnesota (USA) based synchronized swimming team committed to Black liberation, equity in swimming /aquatic arts, body positivity in athleticism, and queer visibility.
Our premiere competition was at the Gay Games 10 in Paris in August 2018, where we won a gold medal for our free combination swim, and a silver medal for our duet swim.
