Aiden vs Moya Moya

Donation protected
Aiden's journey began in May of 2021. He was diagnosed with Leukemia. He has gone through so much with chemo treatments. During this time, he developed Moya Moya. Moyamoya is a rare condition in which the blood vessels (internal carotid arteries) that supply blood to the brain become narrowed. This limits the flow of blood to the brain, and puts them at risk for stroke.

The brain tries to make up for reduced blood flow by growing new blood vessels, called collaterals. While these blood vessels can temporarily help increase blood supply, they eventually stop working. The name “moyamoya,” which means “puff of smoke” in Japanese, refers to the wispy, smoke-like appearance of these new blood vessels on an x-ray.

Moyamoya is a progressive condition, meaning that it gets worse over time, so children need treatment to reduce their risk of stroke. His family has been through so much and now he needs to travel to Switzerland for a revascularization. Surgery for moyamoya disease is offered to prevent neurologic deterioration from strokes. Two types of surgical approaches are offered for patients with moyamoya: direct and indirect revascularization.

Aiden is such a loveable little guy. He just turned 4 years old! We are overjoyed! We weren't even sure he would survive the chemo. It has now been over 200 days and he is cancer free!!!!!! This means the doctors will now be able to move forward with the surgery to correct the Moya Moya.

The expenses to travel are not covered by their insurance. The family lives in Germany needs the means to get Aiden to Switzerland if there is any chance to save his precious life.
The funds would allow his dad, Joe, to take some time off work to get Ai den to Switzerland.
Please consider our need. My family is so very grateful to everyone that has helped us get this far. We could not have made it without so many of you. It is not easy to see a beautiful little boy, happy and playing; but knowing he's been handed a death sentence.
Our family is so grateful for any help we receive.
His wonderful mother wrote these words for all of our friends in Deutchland

Hallo
Vielen herzlichen Dank
