My name is Jason, and I am a 24 year old transgender male who is looking to raise money to help me get top (chest) surgery.
I have known that I was transgender ever since I was young, but I only came out publicly in 2017. I have been on testosterone for almost two years, and I achieved that through the NHS. As grateful as I am to the NHS for everything they've helped me do thus far, I had to wait 2 years to start testosterone. I was in an incredibly dangerous position with my mental health at the time, so the waiting list really wasn't ideal.
Now that I'm on hormones, the next step of my medical transition is to get top surgery. I am currently on the NHS waiting list for that too, but I am looking at another 2+ year wait for just a first consultation. Living without top surgery is incredibly difficult for me and it is hindering my quality of life, and once again, mental health. At the moment, in order to achieve a flat chest, I need to use a chest binder, but I can't use one forever. I have been to A&E due to the amount of damage binding has done to my ribs. It is because of all of these reasons that I am deciding to go private.
Top surgery is a life saving/changing procedure and it will enable me to feel comfortable in my own body. All funds raised will go towards travel, consultations, accommodation (for recovery), post-op recovery essentials, and of course; the surgery itself.
Every donation would be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small. If you are unable to donate then even just sharing this page so that it can reach a greater audience would also be a huge help.
