Caroline's Cancer Journey

My close friend and sister in spirit Caroline Poole has been battling Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer, for eight years now. Having gone through several rounds of radiation, too many chemotherapy treatments to count, and losing a breast, she was hopeful that a recurrence in 2013 would be the end of it and she could move past the ever present fear of Cancer hanging over her head.

However, in 2015 after suffering through several months of chronic hip and knee pain Caroline was given the news  that her cancer had spread. With a life expectancy of 18 months to 3 years the news was devastating for Caroline and those of us who love and care about her.

But Caroline has so many reasons to keep fighting. She has two wonderful sons, one in the Canadian Armed Forces, and one still in elementary school. Her boys give her the energy to get out of bed, face each day and keep fighting at maintaining as much normalicy as possible, particularly for her younger son.

Having gone through more radiation, chemotherapy and participating in a clinical trial through most of 2015 further mainstream treatment options are now limited. That's why we're reaching out for financial help to assist her in pursuing alternative, naturopathic treatments, which can be very expensive. We are hopeful that these treatments will slow or even stop the spread of cancer and help strengthen Caroline's immune system weakened by many chemo treatments over many years.

Caroline is an amazing woman who shows daily strength, courage and a tenacious desire to live.  
We want to help Caroline reach her goal of extending the length and quality of her life so that she can enjoy her time with those she loves, in particular her two boys, Aidan and Mateo.

Caroline is so thankful for the love, prayers and other supports she has received over the last eight years and acknowledges that this is what has helped her get this far on her journey.
