Its crazy to know that only 30 minutes from where we live/work/play is such an entirely different world than we know of. A world with people sleeping on the streets owning nothing more than the clothes on their back. Everone has a story and we’re not here to judge, but what we can do is give someone a smile, faith in life, or maybe even the will to live another day. It’s such a small thing but it’s the little things that make a BIG difference!
Christmas and the cold months are right around the corner and it’s time to step it up a notch and give a little more this month!
In addition to food/snacks, the December lunch-bags are being upgraded to, “Blessing Bags" that will include food/snacks but also have other stuff like:
· Toiletries- toothbrush/paste, deodorant, soap,
lotion, chapstick, wet-wipes
· Survival needs- bandaids, wet-wipes, toilet paper,
Emergen-C packs, Kleenex
· Necessities- Scarf, Socks
· Treats- instant coffee, green tea bag, $5 bill
Scarf? Green Tea? $5 bill? It’s gonna be getting really cold soon and besides that, it’d be nice to give the homies something that they may “want” instead of what we think they “need.”
The goal for 300 bags by December 25 is only 4,000!!
Know that any extra money raised will go towards our future lunch efforts (once a month) or towards supplies needed to make the lunch-time-fun happen like the actual bags, ziplocs, labels, printing, etc.
Cmon guys, lets go!
