Help Sarah Fight Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Erika Blair, one of Sarah’s breast friends. I mean, best friends. She’s the one with cancer, not me, but if you know us, you know we cope with dark humour and bad puns. We’ve worked side by side for over five years, and in that time, she’s become one of the most important people in my life. She’s been there for me through some of my hardest moments without ever expecting anything in return. Now it’s my turn to show up for her.
While I can't take this diagnosis away or fast-forward her healing, I can help ease a bit of the burden, and I’m hoping you’ll join as she faces this next fight in her cancer journey.
Sarah’s Diagnosis
After turning 40 last year and seeing a friend post about self-referring for a mammogram, Sarah made the appointment. On February 24, 2025, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer: Stage 1, Grade 3 invasive HER2+. She had no symptoms. No lumps. No warning signs.
The last few months have been a whirlwind of waiting, fear, appointments, surgery and a treatment plan now starting to take shape. This spring, Sarah underwent a lumpectomy and later this summer she will continue her treatment with several weeks of radiation. It's overwhelming, not only emotionally, but financially. This will be Sarah’s sixth surgery in just five years. She’s no stranger to fighting through pain and recovery while continuing to work full-time, but cancer is a whole new level of challenge.
The Financial Reality
Sarah and her husband Shawn are both self-employed. With no paid time off, no critical illness coverage, and no disability insurance, this diagnosis hits them doubly hard. Shawn will be by her side through every treatment, every appointment, every hard day in the coming months. They face added expenses of hospital parking, travel, medications, and basic costs of living during Sarah’s fight and recovery. While they both continue to work full time, the sheer number of appointments and treatment days ahead adds a layer of stress and worry. Many people don’t see the behind-the-scenes struggle; the juggling of doctor visits, waiting rooms, and surgery recovery all while trying to keep their business running. Your donation helps ease that financial stress, not because they’ve stopped working, but because they’re working through something incredibly difficult.
Ways to Help
Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward easing their financial burden during this time so Sarah can focus on healing.
If you’d prefer to contribute in other ways:

• Shop her Amazon Wish List (comfort items & recovery essentials)
• ️Drop off a meal or send a gift card for SkipTheDishes, DoorDash, or Uber Eats
Sarah is staying strong and is optimistic about her outcome, but understandably frustrated by yet another massive hurdle with her health. Her story is a powerful reminder that early detection matters. She hopes her experience encourages others to advocate for themselves, to push when something doesn’t feel right, to get screened, and to never let someone tell you to wait.
Thank You ❤️
If Sarah’s story moved you, please consider donating, sharing this page, or sending some love her way. We know times are tough, and the economy has stretched a lot of people thin, but truly, every dollar, every kind gesture, encouraging message, and shared post makes a difference!
Thank you for helping lift Sarah up during one of the hardest chapters of her life. Your support means everything.
